We return to the darkened recesses of the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas to begin our coverage of the 56th San Francisco International Film Festival. Rather than make the effort to write a flowery introduction, here’s how the San Francisco Film Society puts it –
“Founded in 1957, the San Francisco International Film Festival is the longest-running film festival in the Americas. Held each spring for two weeks, the International is an extraordinary showcase of cinematic discovery and innovation in the country’s most beautiful city, featuring some 150 films and live events with more than 100 filmmakers in attendance and nearly two dozen awards presented for cinematic excellence.”
Whew. That was much easier to cut and paste than for me to have to come up with something original. Joining us ( for what I believe will be his fifth year helping us to preview the Festival ) is Programmer Sean Uyehara. Sean will give us a complete run down of the Festival, from special programs and guests to specific films that caught his eye.
If you’re into film, this is the program for you! Bringing you the worst in International Film Festival coverage and web talk radio… guaranteed!
